What am I doing? Why am I doing what I am doing? Can I reset my chip? I do wake, sometimes with these thoughts. After this time warp, I come back to reality after going through my job list. “Life has no specific purpose. We try to fit in meaning to everything” says Shivani Hariharan. Chasing the significance of having a purpose in life I meet Shivani who turns the story on its head, knowing her I had the hunch.
She seamlessly moved from finance to energy healing. It was a natural progression she says and found joy in it. For her, ‘Joy’ is the acid test. Life is joy. She doesn’t stress too much on the meaning, purpose or objective. Shivani has come to believe that most of us try to fit in to the world’s perspective of how things should be and don’t celebrate being who we are or what gives us joy.
“The more we make things significant, the less joyful they become” she says with the conviction of a lioness. ‘Significance’ is putting too much weight on a particular situation, person or thought. As we understand energy, wherever you put your thought, energy follows. So why keep chasing the meaning? If what you are doing gives you joy that in itself is a sign of being in the right place at the right time. The problem is, we all have an inherent need to validate our feelings. That is the reason most of the humanity is stuck in right or wrong, good or bad, less or more and all those walls which separate us, put us in silos, slot us in boxes with labels. As if we are factory made products.
Sighting neuroplasticity, with fiery determination she goes further to explain that our consciousness is infinite. We have many choices available. Just that our brain acts as a gate keeper to rejects things it is not familiar with. That’s the reason we don’t develop expansion of consciousness or choose more or manifest things not in our periphery of thought. Meditation helps but brain has to register the process. Also, as soon as consciousness reaches a new level, we label it as a miracle and believe that it cannot happen again.
Shivani gets all animated with a pen and rough paper to explain her understanding about the core issue, she goes “Consciousness is greater than awareness but our lack of allowance does not accept the new ideas.” Basically, we do not allow consciousness to take a leap maybe because of fear, upbringing, culture, education, dogmas, so on. She further says “If each one of us is allowed to do what we want to do, we may be able to do many things”. Discipline, control and other such fears are barriers to the beautiful infinite world of knowing never before possibilities. If you do what gives you joy you will become more powerful for anyone to handle your greatness.
Does she get to know that a particular path may not be for her? “Yes, when it is heavy and not light” She mentions. “It makes your head heavy; you can feel the burden in your body. If you keep the heaviness long enough it turns into a disease. Life feels solid. It is not flowy, flexible or light. There is less energy. You try to control things hence just to do a small job takes a lot of effort.” This leads to fixed behaviour, thought processes. Body becomes calcified. Sighting an example, she explains “I have to work to bring food and comfort to my family” is a typical syndrome of fixated belief and not being in allowance of more.” What if you do what you enjoy and thereby everyone will be joyful. She warns not to stop at finding ‘happiness’ because that still looks for a reason or meaning. But Joy is the essence of life.
She believes in finding joy in accessing more and more who she is. Unfolding the latent part of who she is expansion of consciousness. In that state she has been able to understand clients and taken bold business decisions. Her clients keep expanding, so does her business.
I am all fired up. Do we need Life Purpose? Well, if something gives you joy, it does make you feel light then that maybe your purpose for that period of time. Don’t get attached to it, live it each day. Who knows, it may just be a spring board for the next joyful adventure. How would you know? If you feel heavy thinking about it or going through it. What should you do then? Try not to make it significant. This is the moment to be in question and let the answers come to you.
The answer will come to you as we are swimming in an ocean of light, all we need to do is plug in, find, follow and radiate it.
