How do you feel when you unexpectantly find a currency note in the pocket of a piece of clothing, which you haven’t worn in a long time or when the message from the bank shows an unanticipated credit? Unequivocally, money brings joy and fulfilment to our lives. Reading this, a few may squirm. Check if you have been brought up with the idea of money being root of all evil or that it cannot buy happiness. In this space and in our belief, we try not to judge or have a fixed point of view, rather the effort is to accommodate whatever flows in.
Many work with money as if it were energy. It flows, they say. And why not as everything is energy anyway. Whatever be your background or baggage we all desire to make money.
However, before dive straight into actualising this reality, it would be a good idea to understand your existing relationship with money. In case you are wondering, your current money status is directly proportionate to your relationship with it. And here’s how we can understand more.
Thoughts shape reality by impacting the brain wiring. According to neuroscience, thoughts create the neuro-pathways in the brain which impact life experiences. As we are well aware that thoughts are negative or positive. These are organised in three different levels: automatic thoughts, assumptions and beliefs.
Automatic thoughts are instant and fleeting such as “What an expensive bag!” or “This is a useless purchase”.
Assumptions generally would reflect a positive or negative self-talk or a hear say such as “Money doesn’t come easy to me”.
Beliefs are engrained deeper into our core through upbringing, environment and culture. These are broad guidelines to lead a life. For example, “Only hard work pays rewards” or “Save for a rainy day” or “Money is root of all evil”.
It would be easy for you to now understand the broad relationship with money as you trace the route from automatic thoughts, assumptions to beliefs. If you have grown up focussing on how expensive things are and that money is difficult to come by and that it is a root of all evil, no matter how big your appetite to earn money is, it will not flow easily. Law of attraction will attract and mind will block. The theme running would be ‘Try harder next time’ and that next time will go on till you give up.
Money is a means to an end and not an end by itself. There are many ways to invite money or more of it in your life. One of the ways would be as follows
- Create an objective regarding your money goals.
- Acknowledge all thoughts, assumptions and beliefs around expense, profit, sale, lending, borrowing, purchases, etc. Anything and everything that involves money
- Analyse your barriers regarding money basis your views, assumptions and beliefs.
- Write at least 5 advantages of how money can make your world a better place.
- Read this aloud for the next 21 days.
- Believe that you are a money magnet.
Life is all about manifesting your dreams and goals. Money is just a means to achieve one goal and then to move on to another. We all inherently know this. The guiding light within will bring the answers out provided we look for the light instead of the answers.
